Superace Software launches UPDF 2.5 with GPT-5.6 agents

Superace Software Technologies has released version 2.5 of its UPDF document editor, introducing ten specialized AI agents and upgrading its integrated assistant to run on GPT-5.6. Launched on March 31, 2026, the updated application aims to solve a common workflow bottleneck by combining document interpretation and execution inside a single window. Rather than forcing users to bounce between a chatbot and a separate editor, UPDF allows practitioners to edit text, images, links, and tables directly while preserving the original layout.

The software, which runs across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, features an optical character recognition engine that supports 38 languages with up to 99% accuracy. This OCR tool offers three distinct layout options, including a text-under-image setting that keeps scanned documents looking authentic while making their contents searchable. For multi-format workflows, UPDF can convert PDFs into 14 formats, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HTML, and supports batch conversion with no file-count ceiling.

The newly introduced version 2.5 agents handle tasks ranging from multi-level bookmark generation and semantic search to prompt-based watermark creation and page management. A new UPDF Copilot maps natural-language requests to specific editing tools, though it requires user authorization before executing changes. Superace ensures that user documents are not shared with third parties or used to train underlying models.

Positioned as a lightweight alternative to Adobe Acrobat, UPDF is priced at one-fifth the cost of its competitor, with the AI assistant sold as a separate add-on. A free tier is available but limits users to five uploads, 10 MB per file, 100 pages per file, and 100 questions, while applying watermarks to saved files and capping conversions at two per day.
